3M, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, produced a series of Bookshelf games in the beginning of 1962 and game play was intended for adults and included many types of games. These games were packaged to a "book look" that would fit easily onto ones bookshelf. The cover of the Bookshelf games encased the game, not like typical board games with a drop top, but with a leather looking cover. Games all had a same or similar size with 12" inches in height, 8.5" inches deep, and about 2.25" inches in width. 3M eventually sold the Bookshelf rights to Avalon Hill in 1976. 3M, typically known for sand paper, adhesives, post-it notes, and more, stepped out to produce board games for a short period of time, got out of the board game business, and now these games are considered collectibles. All games in the 3M Bookshelf are in used condition with the conditional rating.
