In 1995, Mattel introduced the First Edition model series with twelve new designs including the 1958 Corvette, Ferrari 355 and Dodge Ram pick up. Six new wheel variations were also introduced in 1995: three spoke (sp3), five spoke (sp5), six spoke (sp6), seven spoke (sp7), hot hubs (hh), and progressive oval wheels (pow). The First Editions has become the standard for new releases and base of the pyramid for a collection upon which all other variations of the new vehicle can be placed.
Even though this page title states 1995 Model Series, these die cast cars are in fact First Editions. When these Hot Wheels first came out, Mattel labeled these cars as Model Series, but then only later in 1996 changed the packaging on the front, stated they were first editions.
