1998 First Edition by Mattel Hot Wheels, was an odd year. In part, to the initial production of Hot Wheels series being 48 car series. Then Hot Wheels lowered the series run to only 40 Hot Wheels during the production run. With limited production of the 48 car series, the prices in the page reflect that increase in price.
