Tin toys had its earliest beginnings in the late 1800's. Plate tin was
assembled through solder and then hand painted. As technology advanced, the tin
toys were assembled with tabs that were bent over the matted slot. Hand painted
tin toys died out when lithograph was applied directly onto the tin. Tin toys
are now a thing of the past; for, the invention of plastics during or after
WWII, a cheaper material work with, all but phased out the production of tin
toys.
